How to Donate Handmade Creations to Knots of Love

Knots of Love makes the process to submit your creations very easy to follow. There are three steps:

1) All hats, NICU blankets, PICC covers, and limb huggers must be made from the required yarn list that has been tested by chemotherapy patients and families of tiny premie babies.

Please ensure that all loose ends are weaved in and not showing. Knots of Love also does not accept hats for infants or LOOMED hats.

Provided is the size chart for beanies, height of the hat includes the brim.

Size Circumference Height

Small 18-20 in. 6.5-7 in.

Medium 20-22 in. 7-8 in.

Large 22-24.5 in. 8-10 in.

Also note that the NICU blankets must be 18" x 24" (46 cm x 61 cm).

2) After crocheting your creation(s), wash, dry, and bag/box your creations and include the form linked below with your package to indicate that you followed the Covid-19 protocol.

One bag or box is sufficient for multiple creations; they do not have to be individually bagged. Sharing your contact information on this form allows Knots of Love to contact you and inform you of where your creations will be shipped to.

3) Send your handmade creations with the completed submission form to the following address:

Knots of Love

2973 Harbor Blvd. #822

Costa Mesa, CA 92626

Also, if you cannot afford postage all the way to California, there are collection sites available in many states across the U.S. that you can send your creations to that will send them the rest of the way at no extra cost to you. I offer a site in Florida that collects the creations and the address is listed in the link above as well.

Community Service Hours for High School Students

If you are in need of community service hours, Knots of Love is more than glad to sign off on the time that you spend working on creations you send to them! You must keep track of the hours you spend crocheting as you are on the honor system. When you are ready to send your creations after following the Covid-19 protocol, mail your community service hour form with your package so that it can be signed and mailed back. KNOTS OF LOVE DOES NOT E-SIGN AND WILL NOT EMAIL THE FORM. The community service hour form cannot be sent separately from your creations or at different times. I also suggest that you highlight the line where you need the signature so you do not receive the form signed in the improper place and face difficulty with your school about getting credited the hours.

I found this to be a great way to accumulate community service hours in such an honorable and necessary way. Since the pandemic has brought challenges to high school students' ability to participate in events and complete activities that will award them community service hours, I have found that working with this organization is a great way to get hours from the safety of your home.

From the bottom of my heart,

I want to thank you in advance for sending your creations to Knots of Love if you decide to do so. Helping this charity allows a chemotherapy patient to have a soft hat that they can sleep in comfortably or a veteran with a limb hugger they can cherish. Your work will not only make you proud, but someone else proud to own it <3
